Filming requests from Location Managers

This information is relevant to film location managers.

Dudley borough has an impressive array of locations to film that suit your budget.  From the magnificent Grade II listed Himley Hall and Park, where in 1645 during the English Civil War, King Charles I encamped in the grounds on his way to defeat at the Battle of Naseby to the Grade II listed Red House Glass Cone which is also a scheduled ancient monument and one of only four complete cones left in the UK.

With seven local nature reserves and one national nature reserve – Wren’s Nest is famous for its geology. There is something to offer any potential film location manager. We are friendly, accommodating and flexible to change.

In recent years we have welcomed ‘Countryfile’ who filmed at The Leasowes in Halesowen and various other parks around the borough. Gok Wan also recorded ‘Fashion Fix' at the Red House Glass Cone in Stourbridge. The Cone has also appeared in ‘Great Railway Journeys’ with Michael Portillo and on Cbeebies with ‘Mr Bloom’.

Dudley hosted the filming of ‘She who brings gifts’, a British post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller starring Glen Close, Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine.

Requests will be considered on a case by case basis and no filming or photography will be allowed on site without prior consent.  Dudley Council reserves the absolute right to grant or deny permission for filming and to determine the terms under which filming will be permitted.
